The Border Project

Director/Choreographer: Teresa Fellion
Composer: Christopher Cathode
Producers: T. Lion Dance/ BodyStories

The Border Project carves out a corporeal map of the space in between the familiar and the unfamiliar. Focusing on stories of immigration, it describes journeys of displacement and reworking of identity that happens on the social level and then recreates it on a magnified, human level. The dance movement, theatricality, and text are so physically, emotionally, and spiritually rich, that they provide the audience with a supreme sense of immersion, growth, and satisfaction. “The Border Project” premiered in Lyon, France to rave reviews earlier this year. It includes an accomplished and talented group of dance-theater artists and an original score composed by Christopher Cathode that mixes percussion, electronic music, and poignant French text.

She Stoops to Conquer

Director: Malinda Sorci
Writer: Oliver Goldsmith
Producer: The CHILDREN's Theatre Company

Oliver Goldsmith's 1773 comedy of class, love, and trickery told in a lean, actor-driven production with much passion and deadly serious humor. When Mr. Hastings and Mr. Marlow, young urban socialites, take a weekend in the country to meet a pair of eligible young ladies, they encounter more than they bargained for. This 236 year old play still packs a punch as it asks questions about prejudice, social status, family, and lust.

The Slick Filling of Aches and Cavities

Director: Lindsey Drury
Writer: Lindsey Drury & Michael Watkiss
Producer: GoGo Vertigoat

The Slick Filling of Aches and Cavities is about sex and food, both of which we, the creators of the piece, are fanatic consumers. Of course, fanatic consumption is modus operati. This dance operates from the premise that consumption is intimate, that it carries within it the capacity to describe who we are and how we love. And so, we describe driving through McDonalds and slipping one's hand up a skirt as comparable expressions of self.
